Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 11, 2026
This is a straightforward explanation of what cookies our site uses and why. We are not lawyers — this is our honest attempt to be transparent. If anything is unclear, just ask us.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites save on your device (computer, phone, tablet). They help websites work properly and can provide basic information about how people use a site. Almost every website uses them in some form.
2. Cookies We Use
Necessary Cookies
These are required for basic site functionality. They are always active.
| Cookie | What It Does | How Long |
|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies so we don't ask again every visit | Stays until you clear your browser data |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Set by Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam bots | 6 months (set by Google, not us) |
Analytics Cookies (Only If You Say Yes)
These only activate if you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. They help us see basic info like which pages people visit.
| Cookie | What It Does | How Long |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Used by Google Analytics to tell visitors apart (doesn't identify you personally) | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Keeps track of your browsing session on our site | 2 years |
3. How to Control Cookies
- Cookie banner: When you visit our site, you can accept or reject optional cookies. You can change your preference at any time from the banner.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help section for how to do this.
- Clear data: You can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies to reset everything.
Blocking the necessary cookies (reCAPTCHA) may prevent our forms from working, since we use reCAPTCHA to stop spam.
4. Cookieless Analytics and Performance Monitoring
In addition to cookie-based services, we use the following cookieless tools provided by Vercel Inc.:
- Vercel Analytics: Measures page views, referral sources, browser and operating system information, device type, and approximate geographic location (country and region). This service does not set any cookies on your device and does not track you across websites.
- Vercel Speed Insights: Collects real-user performance data, including page load times and Core Web Vitals metrics (Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay, Cumulative Layout Shift, etc.). This service does not set any cookies on your device.
Both services may process your IP address to determine your approximate geographic location. Your IP address is not stored by Vercel or made available to us. The data collected is anonymised and aggregated. Because these tools do not use cookies, they are not affected by your cookie preferences — they operate regardless of whether you accept or reject cookies.
For more information, see the Vercel Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Cookies and Data Use
Google sets cookies through reCAPTCHA and Analytics. We don't control those — Google does. Google may use data collected through these services for its own purposes, including but not limited to advertising, product improvement, and analytics across its network. We do not use any cookies for marketing or personalisation, and we do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third party for advertising purposes. However, we cannot control and accept no responsibility for how third-party providers (such as Google) use the data they collect through their own services.
If you want to know more about how Google handles cookies and data, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses data from sites that use its services.
6. Changes
If we add or change cookies in the future, we'll update this page. We do not guarantee advance notice.
8. No Guarantees
We make reasonable efforts to accurately describe the cookies and tracking technologies used on our website. However, we make no guarantees, warranties, or representations — express or implied — regarding the completeness or accuracy of this information. Third-party services may update their cookie practices without notice to us. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heuristro, its founders, and team members accept no liability for any data collection or processing carried out by third-party services referenced in this policy.
